One of the many aspects that made this vehicle unique was its power plant, a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. The most notable feature was the RONN hydrogen system design, which made this supercar highly fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly. The Hydrogen Fuel Injection (HFI) system provided hydrogen on demand, which was injected directly into the engine.

The Scorpion served as the bridge to the zero-emission, dynamic-design future.  With current zero-emission vehicles on the market averaging less than 185 miles of range per charge, according to Green Car Reports, an obvious area of improvement for auto manufacturers is range, the distance a vehicle can travel before refueling/charging.

The upcoming Phoenix is the evolution of the Scorpion and is planned to be an all-wheel drive, all-electric sports car with an optional hydrogen fuel-cell and an estimated driving range of over 600 miles. The vehicle is expected to be released in early 2019 as a roadster and coupe, followed by a sedan in a future design.
